August 29 - Psalm 149 & 150

Psalm 149 & 150

The call to praise, along with the reasons to praise in Psalm 150 is a fitting conclusion this book. We have read calls and reasons to praise and give thanks to God many times in the Psalms. The Psalmist has taught us that praise and thanksgiving are at the heart of the life of faith. Praise and thanksgiving sets the tone of our lives and helps us keep a proper perspective. They keep our spirits turned to the Lord.

  1. I mentioned Overflow earlier in the week, the worship service that is all singing and praising. These two Psalms explain why I always feel so good and refreshed and close to God during and after-this is one of the ways we are supposed to praise God. We raise our voices and hands, some dance, some kneel, and the instruments play loud. Some look down on this 'contemporary' form of worship, but it is one of the ways we are to praise Him.
