Acts 10

Peter was still holding onto the Jewish idea that Jews should not associate with Gentiles. The idea was so deeply embedded in his life that God had to send the same vision to him three times. The vision prepared him to go with the guests that arrived at his house.

Are there values deeply embedded in your life that God would want to change? Are there ideas that you want to hold onto no matter what God desires?

  1. I'm sure that we all have many ideas/values embedded in us from childhood. The sad thing is that some of these come out in the form of bias or prejudice. I feel sure that God would want to change many of these. What powerful words from Peter come out in this Scripture: Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right." One of the key phrases here is, "do what is right." So many times we believe what we are doing IS right but in God's eyes, it is far from it!
