May 30 - 2 John & 3 John
The early church had problems. One of the problems these two books seeks to deal with is the false teachers/prophets who were traveling from church to church. Instructions are given to watching out for these deceivers. Sin existed even in the early church.
But isn't the existence of the sin the reason Jesus came? Even those of us who follow Jesus sin and do the wrong thing. Thanks be to God that our salvation is not dependent upon our perfect action. Rather our salvation is dependent upon the perfect grace of God expressed to us through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
