Revelation 22
"Yes, I am coming" These are the last words of Jesus in the book of Revelation. We do not know when he is going to return. What we do know is how he has called us to live. He has called us to live a new way. He has invited us to turn aside from sin and brokenness. He has invited us to live the way God intended us to live. It is only doing so that we can find contentment and peace in life.

I understand that the Book of Revelation is written in code, and it has always been confusing to me - especially after I hear and read many interpretations. One example in this chapter is the phrase that says "I will give to each person according to what they have done." We are taught in other scriptures that we are saved by God's loving grace rather than by what we have done. I heard recently a statement that "We must not be meant to understand everything written in the Bible or we would be God."
ReplyDeleteI do appreciate and agree with Ken's comment about finding contentment and peace - only through living the way God intends us to live - or at least trying to do so!
