The challenge is to read scripture for 10 minutes and pray for 10 minutes every day. These daily scripture readings are connected to the sermon from the previous Sunday at First United Methodist Church of Grapevine.
"Jesus understands every weakness of ours, because he was tempted in every way that we are. But he did not sin!"
ReplyDeleteJesus did not sin but he faced sin. When we encounter temptation or sin we can turn to Jesus for support. He knows the pull of sin on our lives and we help us through when we ask.
I just watched a true story about identity theft. The movie gave a little of both sides of the story. The "thief" obviously had a "hardened heart" as she wanted everything (material possessions) that she saw in others. Once she had stepped into this "sin," it seemed to get easier. This scripture is a great reminder of the need to fix our thoughts and our hearts on Jesus. It also reinforces the earlier scripture in Hebrews about "encouraging one another" and supporting one another in their faith.
