The challenge is to read scripture for 10 minutes and pray for 10 minutes every day. These daily scripture readings are connected to the sermon from the previous Sunday at First United Methodist Church of Grapevine.
Sin is a constant struggle. Even Jesus faced the temptation to sin. Yet, unlike us, Jesus was able to resist temptation. His resistance can now be our support. Whenever we face temptation, we can turn to Jesus. He knows what temptation feels like and can help us resist.
ReplyDeleteThis blog of Ken's and a book entitled "Jesus Calling" help keep me from "drifting away." However, I have to admit that it is a challenge to have some kind of self-discipline in this regard.
ReplyDeleteThis chapter offers much support in the reminder that Jesus was tempted to a much greater extent than we are. Therefore, He will help us - when we remember to ask for that help to resist anything that separates us from Him.
