"And they will hammer their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks."
The image of changing their tools of war into tools of farming is very powerful. The image reflects the hope that we have that someday we can live in peace.
While what happens on the national level is beyond of our influence, what happens on the personal level we can influence. What are you doing to bring about peace in your relationships?

It seems that in relationships I sometimes need to "put a muzzle on my mouth" (from Psalm 39) - and just listen. Other times, I need to ask for forgiveness which is often very difficult. I'm still praying for self-discipline to be better at both!
ReplyDeleteMy opinion is that we can have limited influence on the national level. One way is that when we receive "forwarded" emails (or hear these kinds of conversations)that are filled with slanderous or false statements, we can reply with "corrections" - or at least a comment on thinking critically when we hear/read such things. Of course, that may the quickest way to have many more problems in relationships!!
