The challenge is to read scripture for 10 minutes and pray for 10 minutes every day. These daily scripture readings are connected to the sermon from the previous Sunday at First United Methodist Church of Grapevine.
What high expectations for our behavior if we are to be a leader in the church - or in the community. This reminds me of a poem by Edgar Guest: "Sermons We See." The first two paragraphs are:
ReplyDeleteI'd rather see a sermon
than hear one any day;
I'd rather one should walk with me
than merely tell the way.
The eye's a better pupil
and more willing than the ear,
Fine counsel is confusing,
but example's always clear;
This is a clear reminder that we are role models in everything we say and do - either like Christ or not - a bit of an overwhelming thought!
