The challenge is to read scripture for 10 minutes and pray for 10 minutes every day. These daily scripture readings are connected to the sermon from the previous Sunday at First United Methodist Church of Grapevine.
Verses 5-11 is called "the Christ Hymn". The passage is an amazing description of what God did for us in taking the form of a human being. It is also a call to us to be willing to sacrifice ourselves as God did for us.
ReplyDeleteWhat high standards we are expected to live by - even though I'll have to admit that I'm no way near those standards. However, it is a wonderful goal in life - to actually have the "attitude of Christ!"
ReplyDeleteVerse 14 has been especially meaningful to me since Ken's sermon (and bracelets) on doing everything without complaining or arguing! It seems like that should be published as a letter to the editor - or some place in which many more people were reminded of this verse!!
